The public examinations for Habilitation in the field of knowledge of Electronic and Computer Engineering, requested by PhD Paulo Mateus Mendes, took place on 31 May and 1 June 2023, respectively, in the Sala de Atos and in the EEUM Meeting Room, at the Azurém Campus of the University of Minho, Guimarães. The lecturer of the School of Engineering was unanimously approved by the members of the jury.

The jury of the exams had as President Dr. Estela Guerreiro da Silva Bicho Erlhagen, Full Professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and as Members Dr. Manuel Alberto Pereira Ricardo, Full Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Dr. João Carlos da Palma Goes, Full Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon; o Doutor Nuno Miguel Gonçalves Borges de Carvalho, Full Professor of the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics of the University of Aveiro; o Doutor João Luís Marques Pereira Monteiro, Full Professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Doutor José Higino Gomes Correia, Full Professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The degree of Habilitation is attributed to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate a relevant activity in research, training or advanced supervision, and the authorship of scientific works of recognised quality after obtaining a doctoral degree.
