The researcher Vipin Richhariya, PhD student at CMEMS – Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Minho, was awarded at IMFAHE’s VIII International Conference, on May 30, 2022.

This conference, organized annually by the IMFAHE Foundation, Boston, Massachusetts, placed the referred researcher in first place, as the best oral presentation (best oral presentation award 2022), among thirty-seven participants from 24 countries.

The presentation, entitled, ‘A nature inspired slip-resistant winter shoe sole’, concerns the researcher’s PhD project, supervised by Prof. Filipe Samuel Silva, Óscar Carvalho, and Ashis Tripathy, and is inserted in the scope of the FCT project ‘BioInsole’, which takes place at the ‘Laboratory for Micro-fabrication and System Integration’, CMEMS. This ongoing project, led by Prof. Filipe Samuel Silva, was placed in the first position among 264 projects in the year 2020.
