José Campos e Matos, a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering and a researcher at ISISE – Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE), was awarded the title of Specialist in Structures by the Order of Engineers on November 23rd.
For Campos e Matos, “It was a privilege to receive the recognition of the Order of Engineers – Specialist in Structural Engineering. A special thanks to my entire team at UMINHO, as well as to the colleagues with whom I have collaborated since the beginning of my career. Finally, I would like to thank my family.”
The professional title of specialist engineer is awarded to engineers who are full members with the level of senior qualification and who have qualified qualifications and must have more than 10 years of duly proven professional practice in the area of specialization sought.
José Campos e Matos was born in Porto and has a PhD from UMinho. He has chaired Yes for Europe, EuroStruct and the general assembly of ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs, as well as being vice-president of IABSE and advisor to the OECD’s Young Entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa. He has given a hundred lectures in various countries and has coordinated R&D projects and events at national and international level.
