EEUM students were in the TIMES final

The biggest case study competition in Industrial Engineering and Management took place until April 13th in Vienna, Austria.

Catarina Novais dos Santos, David Ribeiro, Miguel Paula and Rafael Couto, first year Master’s students in Industrial Engineering and Management, are representing the University of Minho in the final of TIMES, largest case study competition in the area until April 13, which is taking place in Vienna, Austria. This is only the second time that the Minho academy reaches the final of the competition.

Speaking to RUM, David Ribeiro speaks of a feeling of “pride” and stresses that above all it is a “recognition of the quality of teaching in UMinho”.

TIMES is a competition promoted by ESTIEM- European Students of Industrial Engineering Management network. The participants had to solve two surprise case studies without using the Internet. A way to test the technical knowledge of the seven teams in competition. Portugal had two teams in the competition. Besides the higher education institution from Minho, there was also a team from the University of Aveiro.

The main goal of TIMES is to promote the mobility of Engineering and Industrial Management students and start preparing them to enter the labour market.

The winners are eligible to receive internship opportunities at Deloitte and are symbolically considered the industrial engineering and management students of the year.
